On October 1, 2017 an active shooter unleashed a barrage of gunfire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas onto the concert grounds across from the resort where the NetApp Insight conference was scheduled to begin the following morning.  More than 2,300 executives, employees, customers, press, industry analysts, partners and vendors had already arrived at the time of the incident with another 2,300 on the way.

Learn how during and after the trauma - under lockdown, in various locations around Vegas and the world, with disparate information and means to communicate – NetApp was able to deliver communications that helped their people begin to refocus and heal.

In this session, you will gain a deeper understanding of how to create an effective crisis communications strategy, including lessons learned on:

  • Building a foundation for successful crisis communications
  • Identifying new stakeholders in time of crisis
  • Finding the data you need to develop an effective communications plan
  • Decision-making on the fly
  • Evolving for the next unimaginable event
